Detectives seized $1,500 worth of cocaine Tuesday while taking 56-year-old Ediseon Ditren into custody, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said.

Ditren was accused of bringing drugs from his Dorsa Avenue home in Wayne to sell at a Spring Street apartment in Paterson, Berdnik said Wednesday.

Detectives raided both locations and found nearly 30 grams of cocaine, several digital scales, a cutting agent used to dilute cocaine, and $293, the sheriff said.

Ditren was charged with cocaine possession, intent to distribute, and intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, Berdnik said. He awaited bail.

"I commend the detectives involved in investigating this unorthodox drug distribution system," Berdnik said. "This drug dealer would plan his operations in a quiet suburb and then conduct his transactions in urban parts of Passaic County. This was a calculated business model, and now it is shut down."
